Happiness to you!

This weekend, the Buddhist Temple on Cornelia is celebrating Buddha's birthday. According to the Internet, the Buddha once said, "Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared." So let's share some happiness, ya'll!

On Saturday at noon, I'll be attending the Peace & Happiness Parade. As far as I can tell, you get to dress up in colorful clothing or carry colorful flags, and walk around the neighborhood chanting & calling out, "Happiness to you!" to grumpy passersby who probably think you're going to hell. It sounds like fun!

On Sunday they have a Children's Blessing ceremony. Last year I was the official photographer when my friends George & Anna had their peanuts blessed by Sunim.

And look at Stella & Xavier today! They are officially ready to take their places in the happy parade.

And one last quote from the Buddha...."Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds! Shine." I feel like I haven't shined in a while, and I'm definitely ready for it. If you feel like shining too, let me know!
