your core in yoga

this is sadie nardini, a yoga teacher and creator of core strength vinyasa yoga. she's also posting daily on yoga journal's diary. yesterday's posting really resonated with me because i'm teaching beginners the basics of yoga. and the most important pose to master in the learning stages starts with the core.

she talks about core strength in context of alignment. remember all that "suck in your belly, tuck in your tail bone, chest lifted, active legs, etc" that i always go on about when we're going into poses? when practicing yoga, whatever the pose, instead of being hell bent on getting INTO the pose, remember your core.
