ever since margie's opened up next to the montrose el, it's been too easy to get my sugar fix there. i suppose the one thing that keeps me from going there too often are the insane lines. seriously, on the first nice and beautiful day in chicago after weeks of cold and wet tempratures, the line went around the counter and out the door onto the side walk. it's seriously ridiculous.but here's why. i got the terrapin sunday, which is 2 MONSTER scoops of ice cream with caramel sauce, whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry, topped with a turtle and served with a side of margie's amazingly awesome chocolate sauce.
it's sugar overload of the most obscene. what's worse, however, is that YOU. CANNOT. STOP. spooning it in. thankfully, about halfway through my teeth started to hurt and i forced myself to put the spoon down.
then i realised i didn't even touch the turtle. note the half eaten turtle on the bottom left of the picture. a half-hearted attempt by a total amateur. i suck.
